Thanksgiving!!

Okay, so it's not technically Thanksgiving YET, but it will be soon!!  Mostly I'm just excited not to have class, get to go home, the Christmas season, parades...

Okay, I'm just excited for a lot of stuff in general. The past few weeks haven't been all that eventful.  Turned in my first essay, got back first essay, revised first essay, then turned it back in again XD (my teacher allows, and actually encourages this.  I think he grades really hard to convince us we should revise and turn it in again).  Actually, Amelia ended up spending over 2 and a half hours helping me on my essay.  I keep telling people this because I think she's amazing, and I'm really grateful she helped me :D Especially because now it's a REALLY awesome essay and I hope I get a much better grade on this one.

Also, last Thursday was the BEST NIGHT EVER in the dining hall.  It was Thanksgiving a week early!! The food was actually good for once, and we spent AGES in the dining hall just goofing off.  Someone grabbed one of the whole pineapples sitting in the fruit bar section (it kind of seemed like it was supposed to be decoration, but it was with the other fruit XD) and there might have been a contest to see who could eat a grape most seductively (while I joined in by eating mine fast enough so Ben wouldn't notice when I ate mine).

Then on Friday I went to Fairhaven in order to film Stacey's and my Japanese project (with Ben coming to help).  Here is what resulted when waiting for the bus.

So yeah, there we are :D

Haha, oops.

So I haven't posted in over a month now?  That's quite the un-announced hiatus.  It's not as if nothing has been happening, because quite a lot has happened!  For example...

  • Went hiking in the rain.

  • Explored the city's various areas in various outings (including one last Thursday where Erika and I went to this pottery painting/tea shop thing.  We got free tea because we painted something after 5PM on a Thursday)

  • Done WAY too much Japanese homework while dealing with the professors constant need to change the assignments.

  • Started volunteering with the campus Japanese exchange student program.  They have this thing called Classroom Volunteers where they ask the American students to come and help in the Japanese exchange student classes.  It's been fun, and I've enjoyed getting to know some of the exchange students better (PLUS it gives me the opportunity to practice my Japanese after class.  We're not allowed to use Japanese in the classes themselves, but when I see them outside of the classes it's a good opportunity for practice).

  • Gone to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show the night before Halloween (although it was at midnight, so technically it was on Halloween).

  • Went home for the homecoming game and got to see my family and a bunch of high school friends :D

  • and a billion other things I either don't remember or don't feel like writing down.

I'm finally done with midterms (and did quite well on the two I had :D) and I'm heading into the final stretch now.  At least, it *feels* like it should be the final stretch.

Also I am doing Nanowrimo this year! I probably won't finish (and am actually about a week behind now) but I'm hoping to keep trying to work on it.  Last week was a little crazy with homework, but hopefully this week will be better.

That's it for now! Hopefully I'll blog again sooner, but until then、 じゃね!
